Vitasoy Support “中央援港 - 童心抗疫YouAndMe” to
Help Children and Youth Fight Against Epidemic
(Hong Kong, 20 April 2022) Vitasoy has recently supported “中央援港 - 童心抗疫YouAndMe”, a city-wide anti-epidemic initiative, as part of its effort to help children and youth fight against the pandemic.
Initiated by "Youth Anti-Coronavirus Link", the “中央援港 - 童心抗疫YouAndMe” Campaign is dedicated to supporting the families of children and youth affected by the pandemic through giving out up to 300,000 sets of anti-epidemic packages containing Rapid Antigen Test kits, masks and other necessities in need. In addition to the cash donation of HKD500,000, Vitasoy also donated more than 5,000 units of products to support the volunteers at distribution centres and appreciate their endless contribution to the campaign.
Charles Chyi, Chief Executive Officer of Vitasoy Hong Kong, said “Vitasoy has always been committed to providing the public with nutritious and tasty plant-based products. Health of the youth and the public has also been at the heart of Vitasoy. We share the same hope with all the Hong Kong people and even the rest of the world of getting out of this pandemic in no time. We are pleased to participate in “中央援港 - 童心抗疫YouAndMe” and help the children who are in need for the anti-epidemic materials especially when they resume classes.”
Mr. Kenneth Leung Yuk-Wai, The Convenor of Youth Anti- Coronavirus Link, Legislative Councillor and the President of Hong Kong Youth Association, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Vitasoy’s generous support to the campaign. This is very encouraging to the beneficiaries. He hoped that the students would be able to feel the care and support from the Central Government through the distribution of anti-epidemic packages. With everyone’s support, we can fight off the coronavirus together.
Led by All-China Youth Federation, Department of Youth Affairs of the Central Government’s Liaison Office in the Hong Kong SAR and Hong Kong Volunteers Against Coronavirus on the promotion of fundraising, receiving donations and materials from Hong Kong and mainland institutions, the Hong Kong United Youth Association together with nearly 100 organisations established the “Youth Anti-Coronavirus Link” in March and launched the “中央援港 - 童心抗疫YouAndMe” Campaign. The initiative aims to distribute 300,000 packages of anti-epidemic materials with a total value of more than HKD150 million to young people and children in Hong Kong to meet their needs for study and life during the pandemic.
Throughout the pandemic, Vitasoy has been actively supporting underprivileged families, cleaning workers and frontline workers through different partnerships and initiatives. Last month, Vitasoy donated its products to the Hong Kong Fire Services Department’s anti-pandemic frontline team in appreciation of their tireless efforts in delivering the patients.
