REDUCTION (WEIGHT, USAGE)
Vitasoy optimised our PET packaging to reduce bottle weight, thus minimising the use of plastics without compromising product safety and quality.
Since 2019, 430ml VITATM distilled water bottle weight reduced by 6.9% and 700ml VITATM distilled water bottle weight reduced by 9.1%.
RENEWABLE AND RECYCLED RESOURCES
Further to the overall reduction of our use of plastics, Vitasoy is also piloting the use of recycled plastic.
Since 2019, Vitasoy has used 100% rPET (recycled PET) for its 430ml, 700ml and 1.5L VITA TM Distilled Water sold in Hong Kong.
RECYCLABILITY / CIRCULARITY
In 2019, Vitasoy launched the first Vsmart VITASOY Smart Vending Machine to provide incentives for the public to recycle PET bottles through VITASOY PET Beverage Bottle Reverse Vending Machine.

RESOURCE CONSERVATION CLEAN RECYCLING
Through communications with schools and the community, as well as organizing education programmes, Vitasoy strives to enhance public knowledge about environmental protection and promote the importance of clean PET beverage bottles recycling.
All the PET beverage bottles collected from VITASOY PET Beverage Bottle Recycle Bins and Reverse Vending Machines will be sent to plastic recyclers recognised by the government for further processing.

Since 2017, Vitasoy has launched the “Vitasoy Resource Conservation – PET Beverage Bottle Clean Recycling Programme” in schools. Through setting up PET beverage bottle recycle bins and environmental education activities including eco-talks, field trips, workshops and art classes, Vitasoy promoted PET beverage bottle clean recycling among students.

The used PET bottles collected will go through a rigorous process of screening, sorting, crushing, cleaning at high temperature, granulation, and reshaping to produce rPET material. The recycled plastic can be used in beverage packaging, food containers, garment and other fabric, thus helping reduce the plastic waste and fossil fuel consumption.
